It is done...!

Submitted my application form for University of Queensland yesterday. After some consideration, I decided that my main choice of course would be a Bach. of Arts, where I would be doing a double major in journalism. I initially was planning to enrol for a Bach. of Comm. Studies, but after doing some research with the help of a counsellor, I decided that the former was much more in line with what I wanted to do. Further more, I would have a much wider range of minors and electives to choose from in the Arts faculty. The verdict will be out in about a month, but according to e nice folks at IDP, my chances of getting in is almost absolute, considering that my grades are far better than the average student who decides to study overseas.

For the first time in ages, I've actually started reading the papers again. But I can't afford to just rely on that. Times magazines, Newsweek, etc etc. I'm going to have find e time and discipline to sit my ass down at the table and really READ. I'm also going to have to look at doing some part time courses to learn a 3rd language. (Well, 2 and a half, considering my almost negligible level of proficiency in Mandarin) Nevertheless, it feels good to know that I've FINALLY settled the applications for my uni studies. That's one load off my chest. Am so glad that Rong was there to keep me company during my visit to IDP. In her exact words, "Make sure that you leave this place feeling happy". Golden advice...

Alright, nothing else to report for now. I'll leave u guys with this really cute animation clip with a REALLY catchy song.

Hey all...

Yes, i must apologise to whoever's still reading for having such an inactive blog. Alot has been going on in my life lately, so it would be fair to say that blogging has pretty much taken a back seat in terms of priority.

First off, i want to give a shout out to my sis in Taz. Where are ya man? I don't see ya online, and ur blog seems to be down. The last i heard of u was when Ma called ya to tell u bout Melon (for those not in e know, Melon is my sis's cat. He went missing for 14 hours last Thursday, and only returned at 4.30am in the morning.) Anyhow, just want to wish u all e best for ur second semester, and remember, DON'T burn out again!

Alright, my schedule HAS been pretty packed lately. By that, I don't mean that I've been out very often, rather i've had alot of things to keep myself occupied with. First off, work. This is one part of my life which is sort of deteriorating. I'm finding it harder and harder to drag myself to work and face my colleagues. Yes, I still have some friends there, but my relationship with them is still pretty shaky. Ever since I've entered my current company, I've been exposed to several examples of, unethical, if you like, behaviour. Inconsiderate, selfish, childish and back stabbing individuals have made me somewhat bitter and cynical of the people and the events that take place around me at work. As such, I've decided to distance myself from several colleagues, as "mingling" with them simply makes my blood pressure rise. Perhaps the only good news is that most of these bastards are going to ORD in December (they're all drop outs, so they only serve 2 years. Thank goodness for their measly O level qualifications), so I'll only have to endure bout another 6 to 7 months before they start clearing leave. In the meantime, I'll just have to find ways to keep myself occupied in camp, and to ensure that I do a decent job during ops to get myself out of any potential troubles.

Another touchy topic for me now, gymming. I started seriously working out more than half a year ago, and I have come to a stage whereby I have lost ALL motivation to carry on pumping iron. Alright, my physical fitness has improved slightly, and I do look mildy more buffed than before, but I've realised that I've been putting so much pressure on myself that working out has become a very depressing activity for me. I feel like I am deceiving myself after every gym session, when i tell myself that i'm going to look better and get better. But the truth is, better has never come. Yes, this is something that takes a long time to achieve, but I've been at this for more than half a year. Surely I should be seeing more improvements by now? There are alot of factors for this; lack of knowledge, improper diet etc etc. Either way, I've decided to take a major break. I no longer enjoy going to the gym, so I'm going to take this time and focus on other things. Firstly, I'll have to do alot of reading up to make sure I won't be making any more mistakes in the gym from now on. Also, I'll be doing more running to help rid myself of those friggin love handles! Hai.... i hate my flabby sides. In conclusion, I hope that I would be able to re discover the same level of motivation and enjoyment to get me pumping iron productively within the next month or so.

Well, I guess that's enough for the downsides of my life. Now for the good stuff! Do the names Trey Parker and Matt Stone ring a bell? In a nutshell, they are the guys who brought the world Southpark, the incredibly crude and hilarious cartoon series which has never been broadcasted on our sunny shores, as well as the brilliantly sarcastic film Team America! Now I am HOOKED onto Southpark. I've been downloading episode after episode, and to say that I thoroughly enjoy every scene is a major understatement! Every joke, every song and every story that is featured in their work actually has a much deeper implication in relation to events which are taking place all over the world. From terrorism to politics to commercialism to assholes, Parker and Stone express their views through every episode. Brilliant stuff.... I'd highly recommend Southpark to anyone who is open minded enough to watch Saddam Hussien goto bed with Satan!

Right, onto other news. I've been spending a great deal of time killing cops, murdering hookers, shooting up neighbourhoods, destroying cars, robbing old ladies and stealing bikes for the past couple of weeks! If you're wonderin what the hell I'm talking about, rest assured, i've not gone psycho or anything. Instead, I've been sittin my fat ass down in front of the PS2 playin Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas! This game positively kicks butt. In a nutshell, you take control of a black gangster in the city of San Andreas, and you have the freedom to do almost anything you want! That really is the major plus point of this game; freedom. You can ride bikes, goto the gym, go shopping, kill buggers, rob mini marts, play pool, use vending machines, vandalise walls. The list goes on and on! It's something like Sims, but a WHOLE lot more fun! I am so hooked onto it right now, it's great. I would be playing it now if there wasn't a bloody moth in my gaming room upstairs (gosh, e secret's out. I have a phobia of moths!) Yes, well, once again, I would highly recommend this game to most folks out there!

Right, next up, love life! Alright, I have to admit. Although me and Rong have been together for over a month now, part of me still can't quite believe that we are a couple. Each time I look at the photos we take, or the letter she wrote me, or the "in a relationship" status on my friendster profile, or her beautiful smile when she's next to me, i feel like i'm in a transitional state between reality and my dreamworld. To say she's wonderful is an understatement. I know this is a rip off from the Hitch movie poster, but I can't help but feel that this sentence so accurately depicts what I'm feeling now. She's everything I never knew I wanted! I never knew that I could feel so happy, so relaxed, and so, right with someone. Everything's working really really well right now. We're taking things nice and slow, no pressure whatsoever. Man, I am so so SO blessed. :)

Alright, this has been a pretty long post. Time to head to bed, and argh, head to work tmr morning. I'll try to update more regularly k folks? And do feel free to leave comments and stuff k... See ya'll soon. Gd nite

Blasted love handles...

Argh!! Hate my friggin love handles... It's an understatement to say that I'm pretty frustrated right now. I'm reasonably fit. I go for ALL runs 3 times a week. I goto the gym every alternate day. And yet, my body isn't shaping up as how I would like it to.

I have colleagues who hardly ever go for the weekly runs. All they do is sleep in the bunk. They don't exercise, they don't do chores. In fact, they are so lazy that they don't even leave the bunk to go for lunch! Instead, they get others to buy western food back from the canteen so they can eat in the bunks! Thankfully, they haven't approached me to ask of any favours. I can't stand those buggers man. Lazy. Sly. Cunning. Rich. Loud. Vulgar. Smokers. Drinkers. Smooth-talkers. Man, the list of negative descriptions go on and on. And somehow, these fellas seem to be in better shape than me! For sure, I am fitter than them. I can run faster then them, do more pull ups then them etc etc etc. But they don't have love handles!!!! ARGH!!!!

Alright enough ranting. Right now, as I'm blogging, I'm handling 6 chat windows, so please excuse any typos and lousily contructed sentences. Well, life for me lately has been full of ups and downs. The past week at work has been pretty bad. My closer buddies at camp were absent from work due to various reasons, so I was left to mingle with the remaining assholes in my platoon. Very unpleasant I must say... I simply can't get along with these guys. They smoke, drink, patronise nightclubs and bars. They live in a different world.... Oh well, enough about them.

Time flies when you are having a good time. Well, time really REALLY flies when I'm out with Rong. It's really frustrating, considering we only meet twice a week. Hours flash by, and before I know it, I'm sending her off to her elevator. Argh... In a few days time, we would have been together for a month! Wow, it still feels like we got together only a few weeks back... Time flies....I miss her so much... :-(

Alright, can't blog anymore. I seriously suck at multi tasking.... till next time!

Beautiful soul...

Oops, my apologies to all! It's been an awful long while since I've last updated. I've been pretty busy, both at work, at home, and of course, my social life. =)

First off... haha. I can't find e right words to describe things between me and Rong. It's... wonderful? Great? Perhaps it's too good to be true. I don't know, I often wonder if I'm dreaming. I remember a time, not too long ago. I was down and depressed, having lost faith in love. I remember, being so afraid that I'll never find someone who will love me like how Danielle did. Now that I look back, I can see what a fool I was. Right now, I've found someone who cares so much for me, someone who treats me extremely well, someone who's so much more loving, someone who's so.... wonderful. She makes me forget so much of my past, and pushes me to look forward to the future. Our relationship is so... matured, so... relaxed, so.... natural. But at the same time, I still can't quite believe that, I'm together with her. Rong's my girlfriend. Just saying that still jolts my senses a little. I can't quite believe that we've come to where we are now. I'm truly, truly blessed to have her in my life. I'm a lucky chap. =)

Believe me when I say it took me quite awhile to type out the above paragraph. I find it hard to, choose the right words in which to describe our relationship. Similarly, I'm having difficulty saying certain things to Rong. Whenever I want to say something sweet, or tell her how I feel, I get tongue tied... lost for words... argh, it's so embarrassing. I've never, ever experienced so many problems expressing my feelings. It's strange eh?

Well, things haven't been all smooth sailing for me recently. The situation at work is getting slightly hairy, and if our sources are correct, things are going to get progressively worse all the way till NDP. First off, due to my company's insane manpower shortage, there has been a merging of platoons in a bid to keep our operations alive. So lately, I've been doing some anti smoking rounds (the job scope of the other platoon), a job which i don't really mind coz it's pretty fun. But, things will get tough from next week onwards, when i'll be mounting station duties. Instead of having an 8 to 5 work schedule, I'll be doing a mount/dismount system. Let's say I'm mounting on Monday. I'll report to camp at 8am on Monday morning, and will be on duty all the way till 8am on Tuesday morning. By the time I wash up and leave camp, it'll be bout 10am, and since I stay on the other side of the island, I'll get home at round noon. The rest of the day will be mine, until Wednesday morning, when I have to mount again at 8am. In other words, I'm not gonna have much of a life. The good news is, I'll probably only be having this work schedule for a week or so, before I resume my normal 8 to 5 regime.

Bizarrely, despite the fact that my company is suffering from a shortage of manpower, the big shots at the top figure that we are still able to help out other companies with their problems. That said, there are rumours that we will have to help form up the 72-man guard of honour parade for several events that are coming up prior to NDP. On top of that, I'll also have to take part in NDP rehearsals; burnt weekends in which we are promised very, very few off-days in return. It's going to be a very tiring and tough time for all of us. All we can do is hope that the rumours are in actual fact bull-crap. But still, I always believe in preparing for the worst. As it is now, me and Rong don't meet as often as I would like. It's scary to imagine what things would be like in the coming months. Sigh, here's hoping for the best. *fingers crossed*

Well, onto some good news then. I just got back from a jam session, and this time round, zoo brought his friend along, a senior from our sec sch. This guy can really play bass. He's actually a guitarist, but it's pretty obvious that he's had some serious time with a bass guitar. He tagged along with the songs that we jammed, and by gawd, our songs sounded so much FULLER with his bass thumping in the background. I couldn't help but smile throughout each song. This is something that I've been dreaming of for a LONG time. A real bassist joining in the fray, whilst Leaf can just focus on his singing. Hopefully he'll consider joining us for our next jam, and perhaps from there, maybe he can become our full-time bassist? Haha... we'll see how things go.

Alright, it's late now. Better be headin off to bed... Adios y'all
